A testament to architectural grandeur and precision craftsmanship, this Toorak residence designed by Rob Mills Architecture & Interiors showcases natural stone at its most expressive. Every surface — from the sweeping marble floors to the sculpted fireplaces and integrated vanities — embodies the seamless collaboration between design vision and fabrication mastery.
Pazzi Marble & Granite worked across multiple floors and spaces, carefully installing premium stones sourced from Italy to create a residence defined by texture, depth, and timeless luxury.
Lower ground — lobby, lift & cellar floors
The journey begins in the lower-ground lobby, where Calacatta Vagli Oro marble (20 mm honed) establishes the project’s tone of opulent restraint. Installed with meticulous 1 mm aris edges, each slab was measured and aligned for absolute continuity across wall and floor planes. The result: a luminous entrance that feels both grounded and grand.
Ground floor — entrance, hall & kitchens
Flowing into the ground level, the same Calacatta Vagli Oro marble carries through the entrance, hallway, powder room, kitchens, and cloak area. The seamless transitions between rooms showcase the discipline behind Pazzi’s detailing — mitred joins, delicate aris edges, and precise alignment ensuring a continuous visual rhythm. The gentle gold veining of the stone adds warmth against the clean geometry of the architecture.
First floor — continuity in craft
The first floor continues this language of refinement. The Calacatta Vagli Oro extends into private zones, creating cohesion through tone and texture. Floors and thresholds were templated and finished to the same honed perfection, maintaining the project’s disciplined elegance from ground to upper levels.
Staircases — basement to first floor
Two staircases connect the residence’s three levels, each one a masterclass in geometry and detail.
The Calacatta Vagli Oro treads feature bullnose and scotia profiles, paired with honed landings for durability and design consistency. Every step was individually templated, mitred, and polished to ensure an unbroken flow between levels — sculptural yet solid underfoot.
Kitchen & living fireplace
The kitchen combines performance with prestige. The benchtops, splashbacks, and waterfall island are all fabricated from Calacatta Vagli Oro (20 mm honed), featuring mitred and square-edge profiles, unfinished splashback returns, and a 60 mm mitred island drop.
In the living area, the same marble reappears at the fireplace — its bold veining pattern book-matched to create a dramatic centrepiece that reflects both architectural discipline and natural artistry.
Powder room, study & entertainment spaces
Across the study, billiard room, and powder rooms, bespoke vanities and integrated sinks continue the stone narrative. Each piece of Calacatta Vagli Oro was mitred and assembled to exacting tolerance, merging clean lines with organic movement. These quieter spaces balance the home’s statement areas with intimacy and precision.
Formal dining & sitting rooms — the glow of onyx
Transitioning from marble to onyx, the formal living zones are illuminated by Ivory Onyx (20 mm polished) from Corsi & Nicolai. The material’s soft translucency amplifies natural light, while mitred edges and thickened 80 mm profiles give each bench, splashback, and fireplace a sculptural presence.
This rich, luminous stone captures the artistry of Pazzi’s fabrication — every join aligned to perfection, every surface finished to mirror clarity.
Master suite & ensuites
In the master ensuite and accompanying bathrooms, Ivory Onyx (20 mm polished) reappears in vanities, splashbacks, and floors, offering a sense of continuity and quiet luxury.
Each vanity integrates shark-nose and mitred edges, while floors feature full-size slabs with 1 mm aris detailing. The natural warmth of onyx complements the architecture’s tonal restraint, transforming each ensuite into a private retreat.
Master wardrobe & movie room
Within the walk-in robe, an Ivory Onyx island and seat highlight the stone’s versatility — honed edges contrast against soft lighting to create subtle depth.
In the movie room, the onyx continues in custom benchtops and splashbacks, echoing the luxurious palette of the entire residence.
Pool powder room & change room
By the pool, Travertine Navona Extra White (20 mm honed) offers a tactile contrast to the marble and onyx interiors. With its soft neutral tone and natural texture, the travertine balances warmth and elegance, anchoring the project’s palette with earthy sophistication.
