Stonington mansion — stonework by Pazzi Marble & Granite

Stonework: Pazzi Marble & Granite | Builder: WeBuilt | Stone Supplier: Signorino

A legacy of craftsmanship and scale, Stonington Mansion stands as one of Melbourne’s most prestigious residential restorations — reimagined with marble precision and grandeur by Pazzi Marble & Granite. Across six ensuites, gallery corridors, wardrobes, and feature spaces, this project celebrates the harmony between architectural luxury and artisanal stone execution.

A marble symphony across six ensuites

From Ensuite 1 through to Ensuite 6, the interior language remains consistent — refined, luminous, and timeless.

Each bathroom is wrapped in Calacatta Marble (20mm polished), installed in full-height panels with 1mm aris edgesand precision mitred corners to achieve seamless transitions.

The 60mm lamb’s tongue bullnose edge appears throughout — a classical profile reinterpreted for modern architecture. This subtle curvature softens the monolithic marble surfaces, framing mirrors, vanities, and ledges with sculptural finesse.

Every joint, mitre, and slab alignment was individually templated and installed with surgical accuracy, turning each ensuite into a study in quiet opulence.

Vanities — refined continuity and proportion

Across the residence’s principal ensuites, custom vanities in Calacatta Marble echo the surrounding cladding. Each benchtop integrates square and lamb’s tongue edge treatments, balancing crisp geometry with heritage-inspired curvature.

The mirror-polished finish enhances the depth of the veining — a reflection of both natural artistry and masterful craftsmanship.

Gallery & wardrobes — the elegance of contrast

To create contrast and visual rhythm, the gallery and wardrobes feature Rosso Levanto Marble (20mm honed) — a deep, rich stone marked by burgundy veins and subtle tonal shifts.

The honed finish softens the surface reflection, giving a tactile counterpoint to the polished Calacatta.

Detailed with 60mm lamb’s tongue profiles, each bench reads like a bespoke furniture piece, adding warmth and character to transitional spaces.

Floors & borders — architectural geometry underfoot

The flooring design throughout the first floor continues the classical composition of marble.

Each ensuite features Calacatta Marble field panels bordered with Emperador Marble (20mm polished), creating a refined frame that delineates the space.

The pairing of cool white and rich brown tones lends balance — a curated interplay between light and grounding contrast.

This geometric arrangement, combined with tight 1mm aris joints, creates the feel of a European gallery underfoot.

Sauna & feature spaces — precision carried through

Beyond the private quarters, the craftsmanship extends to the sauna floor, additional powder room cladding, and custom fireplaces, each executed in Calacatta marble.

Even the most technical variations — from levelling over heat mats to mitre reworks and fine splashback adjustments — were handled with the same standard of precision.

Every cut and corner aligns perfectly within millimetres, reflecting Pazzi’s hallmark attention to detail.

Crafting beyond surfaces

Every project carries a signature — and at Stonington Mansion, it’s the seamless dialogue between classical architecture and modern fabrication.

Pazzi’s mastery lies not only in shaping stone, but in orchestrating consistency across vast, complex surfaces.

From the rhythm of mitres to the nuance of the lamb’s tongue edge, every finish speaks to excellence in both design and execution.

This project stands as a benchmark of Melbourne luxury — where marble becomes architecture, and craftsmanship becomes legacy.
