Toorak residence — stonework by Pazzi Marble & Granite

Stonework & Supply: Pazzi Marble & Granite | Architect & Interior Design: Yves Architecture & Interiors

This Toorak residence embodies the essence of refined modern luxury — a home where architectural form and natural stone craftsmanship meet in perfect harmony. Collaborating with Yves Architecture & Interiors, the Pazzi team delivered a series of meticulously fabricated stone applications that combine beauty, balance, and enduring strength across every level of the home.

The hero island

At the heart of the kitchen stands a sculptural centrepiece — an island bench crafted in Calacatta Orogrigio New (20mm honed). Soft, fluid veining moves gracefully across the stone, grounding the kitchen in timeless sophistication.

The mitred 20mm edge detail and three-sided waterfall design transform the marble into an architectural statement — elegant enough for entertaining, yet resilient for everyday life.

A backbench built with precision

The rear bench mirrors the same Calacatta Orogrigio New marble, enhanced with a full-height splashback to achieve visual continuity. The unfinished edge of the splashback adds a tactile contrast — a raw, organic detail that offsets the clean mitres and crisp geometry of the kitchen joinery.

This interplay between refinement and authenticity reflects Pazzi’s craftsmanship philosophy: precision with personality.

Kitchen and island — a sculptural masterpiece

Beyond its striking appearance, this kitchen is designed to perform. Each surface — from benchtop to splashback — has been fabricated and installed with deliberate intent, aligning stone transitions, bookmatching, and slab placement for perfect harmony.

The result is a kitchen that balances functionality and artistry, becoming both the visual and social hub of the home.

Curved to perfection

Connecting the levels of the home, the staircase is clad in Calacatta Cremo (20mm honed) with bullnose edge detailing that softens each tread. The gentle curvature complements the marble’s subtle veining, offering a seamless blend of form and function.

This craftsmanship highlights Pazzi’s technical mastery — precision cutting, templating, and shaping — all executed to achieve fluid continuity across every curve.

Seamless transitions across floors

Stretching from basement to first floor, the staircase defines vertical flow within the residence. The consistent tone and texture of Calacatta Cremo unify the interior language, linking each level through rhythm and repetition.

It’s not just a staircase — it’s a sculptural pathway that connects the home’s architectural soul.

A vertical centrepiece

Every stair has been individually templated, mitred, and assembled to create an unbroken, sculptural form. The vertical installation captures both solidity and lightness, with perfect alignment across risers and returns.

This is stone engineering at its most refined — tactile, timeless, and visually balanced from every angle.

The master ensuite retreat

Soft and serene, the master ensuite features Calacatta Borghini (20mm honed) — chosen for its delicate veining and warm undertones.

Full-height wall cladding, integrated splashbacks, and custom edge treatments (square, shark-nose, and mitred)create a spa-like retreat that embodies quiet luxury.

Ensuites throughout the home follow the same design language, crafted with mitred drop panels and continuous veining, reflecting consistency, care, and craftsmanship in every space.

The Calacatta Viola fireplace — sculptural drama in stone

Anchoring the formal living area, a single slab of Calacatta Viola marble becomes a breathtaking statement. The bold burgundy veining against a creamy base introduces artful contrast — a visual rhythm that transforms the fireplace into a sculptural focal point.

Detailed with flush square edges and hand-finished mitres, every join reflects precision and intent.

This feature captures the essence of Pazzi’s philosophy — merging nature’s raw drama with refined execution.

Crafting beyond surfaces

The Toorak residence reflects Pazzi’s unwavering pursuit of excellence in both technique and design. From the honed marble island to the curved staircase and sculpted fireplace, every surface tells a story of precision, craftsmanship, and architectural harmony.

Through collaboration with Yves Architecture & Interiors, the project achieves more than beauty — it achieves timeless balance between form, material, and mastery.
